ILL

Inter-library Loan (ILL) is a service that enables patrons of one library to borrow physical materials and receive electronic documents that are held by another library.

Stimson offers ILL services for all staff and students. This includes if you find an article blocked by a pay wall, or want to read a book that we don't have in our collection.

Reserve a Room

Stimson Library has four rooms available for reservation during normal library hours.
Each room is furnished with a table and chairs, a whiteboard, and a TV monitor that can accommodate HDMI inputs.
The rooms can be used for individual or group study, meetings, video conferences, and other business.

The library also has a computer lab available by reservation that can accommodate up to nine attendees and one presenter.

Study Spaces

The library has many spaces for collaborative learning and studying on the main floor.
These spaces are furnished with tables and 4-6 chairs each, and large whiteboards. These spaces are first-come, first-served.

Quiet Study

The lower level of the library is designated for quiet study as the main floor of the library can become noisy at busy times of the day.
The lower level is equipped with tables, chairs, and individual carrels.

Currently, the hours for the lower level of Stimson Library are:
Mon - Thur : 0730-1500

Computers & Printing

Stimson Library has computer and printing capabilities available for patrons affiliated with MEDCoE.

What is a Literature search?

Literature search is a systematic search from the already published data to identify a breadth of quality references on a specific topic. This can be done in varying levels of depth based on patron needs.

A Librarian can assist you with:

• Building a PICO(T) question or refining a clinical question
• Recommending helpful databases and other resources
• Identifying relevant search terms
• Searching based on a clinical question through literature search.
  This can be done to:
  • Gather general information
  • Survey literature before a research project
  • Assist in preparing a systematic or scoping review
  • Draft a reproducible search string
